Director of Racquets

It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome Jon Parry as the new Director of Racquets at Bellevue Golf Club! We are excited to have Jon join our community, and we are confident that his extensive expertise, leadership, and passion for racquet sports will be a tremendous asset to our Club.

A native of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Jon has dedicated his career to developing players and fostering a love for racquet sports at all levels. Before entering the tennis industry, Jon proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67), an experience that shaped his leadership, discipline, and commitment to excellence—qualities that he now brings to his role as Director of Racquets at Bellevue Golf Club.

With over 15 years of experience as a PTR Certified Tennis Professional, Jon has coached players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to nationally ranked juniors. His coaching career includes nine years as Head Tennis Professional at The Woodlands Club in Falmouth, Maine, where he led programs for both juniors and adults. Additionally, he served on the Maine Tennis Association’s Board of Directors and Executive Board from 2007 to 2018. Jon’s contributions to the sport were recognized when he was named USTA Volunteer of the Year for Maine. He also spent time in the collegiate ranks as the Head Coach of the University of Southern Maine Men’s Tennis Team, where he helped student-athletes grow both on and off the court.

Most recently, Jon served as the Senior High Performance Coach, Director of Tournaments, and Director of Technology at The Thoreau Club Tennis Academy, where he worked with competitive juniors, managed tournaments, and integrated technology into player development. His deep involvement in USTA Adult and Junior Programs—as a competitor, captain, coordinator, tournament director, and volunteer—has given him a well-rounded perspective on the game at all levels.

In addition to his expertise in tennis, Jon is a PPR Certified Pickleball Professional, bringing the same enthusiasm and energy to the growing sport of pickleball. His ability to teach and engage players in both tennis and pickleball makes him a well-rounded leader in racquet sports.

Jon’s coaching philosophy extends beyond technique and strategy. He views racquet sports as powerful tools for personal growth, incorporating elements of problem-solving, physics, mathematics, and character development into his teaching. He takes pride in helping players gain confidence, independence, and a deeper understanding of their game and themselves.

At Bellevue Golf Club, Jon is eager to build a dynamic and engaging racquets program that offers top-level instruction, exciting events, and a welcoming atmosphere for players of all abilities. His vision is to make Bellevue a premier destination for tennis and racquet sports, where both competitive and social players feel inspired to improve and enjoy the game.

Away from the court, Jon is a passionate cyclist, appreciating the sport for both its physical challenge and meditative benefits. He has completed numerous endurance rides, including a 78-mile trek over three mountain passes in the Rocky Mountains, climbing to over 11,000 feet in elevation.

Jon welcomes all members to stop by the Tennis Pavilion to say hello—whether to talk tennis, pickleball, the Navy, cycling, or whatever the day brings!

We are excited to have Jon as part of our team and look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on our Club’s racquets programs!
